Web Publication Policy & Design Standards
All pages published on the 48 & FJ Holden Owners Club (NSW) Inc. (hereafter referred to as ‘the club’) website must adhere to the publication policy and design standards detailed on this page.
Goals of the site
The goals of the website are
- To ensure the rapid and accurate dissemination of information to all current and future members of the 48 & FJ Holden Owners Club (NSW) Inc. club via the web medium.
- To create and maintain an image of the club that is in line with its published aims and ideals.
- To create a community website where members may interact with reference to their interest in cars, more specifically Model 48 & FJ Holden’s
General Policies
- The site content must remain consistent with the existing club policies for printed material and other produced items.
- All content on the site must comply with the Australian Copyright Law 1968.
- Any content that does not meet Copyright standards, Publishing standards or is deemed objectionable (e.g. pornographic, racist, hateful) may be removed from the site without notification
- The site is not for profit and it is not the intention of the club to earn any financial gain from the site. Any finanicial gain will be passed back into the club finances.
- If pages or content are found that do not meet with the publishing policy of the club, then the page may be altered or removed without notification.
- Content may be submitted by any member of the club for publication.
- Pages may not be published until they are complete.
Privacy Policy
- Any information collected from the user will not be sold or passed on to any other party unless explicitly required by law.
- Information that may be collected can include, but is not limited to, IP Address, Browser type and version, username, email address, comments and discussions
- The guestbook will be made available to the internet to be read by anyone. As the club cannot control who will have access to these pages, please do not provide any information that you would like to be kept private.
Design & Technical Standards
- Every webpage generated for the site must maintain the general look, feel and standards for the site. This includes logo placement, navigation location and user feedback mechanisms. The generation of a standard style sheet will assist with this.
- Every page of the site that is not the home page will provide a link back to the home page in the same location on every page.
- Some areas of the site may require authentication before access is provided.
- The server , web address and registration will be maintained by the webmaster or a 3rd party as designated by the webmaster.
- Web pages should be able to be viewed on an 800x600 screen resolution as a minimum
- All file names should be lowercase and use an underscore as a spacer.
- All files will remain accessible on the site and will not be removed or purged without prior consent of the club committee.
- The pages should be viewable by most mainstream web browsers such as IE, Netscape, Firebird.
- Functionality specific to individual browser implementations should be avoided where possible.
- External page links should be implemented with the target=”_blank” option to ensure that the link opens in a new window.
Review Policy
- The committee of the club will designate a date when the site will be reviewed each year for adherence to the above policies.
- The site will be reviewed for adherence to publication policies at a minimum of once every 18 months
- The committee will be responsible for delegating this process to a person with the relevant skills to complete the task.
- The reviewer should be a current club member.
